Coal is the richest and the most widely distributed fossil fuel, which China has a very abundant reserve. The technology of generating H2 and CO using coal (lumps or powder) as feedstock that owns by our company has the advantages of low cost-effectiveness in operation, high automation, process maturation, meeting the national standard and code for the discharges of all the three wastes treatment and ranking a leading position domestically. In the light of client's demand for different kinds of products of various qualities, we have integrated and optimized the technologies of coal powder shaped and gas preparation, atmospheric pressure desulfurization, CO conversion, decarbonization in wet way, decarbonization through PSA, refined desulfurization, H2 purification through PSA, heat recovery from blowing air and wastewater treatment of coal-gas preparation, etc. The purity of the products for CO varies between 30%~99% while for H2 is between 98%~99.999%.

Technical features
with coal as feedstock, the gas preparation can be approached by an intermittent manner with air.
Coal as feedstock is either powders or lumps (anthracite).
Products can be variety.
The blowing air after heat-recovery mixed with off-gas from PSA enters into the blowing air recovery system so as to recover the heat and reduce energy consumption.
The circulated water from gas preparation is recycled in a closed loop by taking advantage of the technology of wastewater treatment so as to reduce water consumption and avoid environment pollution.

Process flow brief description
The feedstock-coal (lumps or shaped) and steam produce water gas in gas generator. The water gas goes further through dust elimination, washing and desulfurization at atmospheric pressure to get pure water gas, which can produce high thickness of CO and H2 prior to passing refined desulfurization, decarbonization and PSA; If client needs product of low purity CO only (for example to produce the products of sodium formate, DMF, etc. ), the CO-Rich gas after the refined desulfurization can be used as feed and the off-gas from CO adsorption can be fed into the H2-purification plant to generate the product H2.
